NORMAN — OU football has relied on its defense and special teams to win games the past couple of weeks.

The Sooners ' offense has come through in spurts, notably quarterback John Mateer's rushing touchdowns against both Alabama and Tennessee on the road. But as OU prepares for a two-game home slate that will define its College Football Playoff destiny, beginning with Missouri on Saturday, Brent Venables wants to see more balance.
