The United Way of Mesa County is taking donations for a second winter supply drive, after giving away coats, blankets, socks and other warm clothes to 230 people in an earlier drive that ended Nov. 10.
In collaboration with Colorado Mesa University physician assistant students, United Way of Mesa County Executive Coordinator Corbin Curtis said the group would continue taking donations until noon on Thursday via drop boxes at its office — 750 Main St., Suite 111 in Grand Junction — or at CMU’s Dominguez Hall.
“The Grand Junction community is not short on people that need these kinds of supplies, this time of year,” Curtis said, when asked about the second supply drive’s goals. “As many as we can get would be better.”
