Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will temporarily suspend operations on both its runways for six hours on November 20 to carry out its annual post-monsoon maintenance work.
Runways 09/27 and 14/32 will be closed from 11 am to 5 pm, said Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) operator.
According to the airport, the maintenance activity is part of a yearly safety and preparedness programme undertaken after the monsoon to ensure that runway surfaces, lighting systems, and drainage infrastructure remain in optimal condition.
A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued well in advance, and the airport director said coordination with airlines and stakeholders began nearly six months ago to schedule adjustments in flight timings and manpower planning.
