As winter sets in, the body naturally craves warmth, strength, and nourishment. In the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh, a treasured seasonal sweet makes its way into every household: the traditional gond -jaggery laddu .

Passed down through generations of grandmothers’ kitchens, these wholesome laddus are not only delicious but also shield the body from winter chills and help strengthen immunity. According to Sweety Patel, a homemaker from Nimar, these are lovingly known as winter laddus, prepared especially for the colder months.

Edible gum (gond): 100 g

Jaggery: 250 g

Wheat flour: 200 g

Desi ghee: 200 g

Almonds: 50 g

Cashews: 50 g

Grated coconut: ½ cup

Cardamom powder: 1 teaspoon

Poppy seeds (optional): 2 tablespoons

Roast the Gond: Heat a little
