The day has come. LeBron James returned to the court and played his first game of the 2025/26 season, officially rewriting history once again.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz 140–126, as James entered his 23rd NBA season — becoming the first player ever to reach that mark.

Despite James’s historic achievement and a double-double of 11 points and 12 assists, the spotlight, as usual, belonged to Luka Dončić. The Slovenian star stole the show once again, leading the Lakers with 37 points and 10 assists. It was his 51st 35/5/10 game since entering the league — no other player has more than 30 in that span.
