NEW YORK — Duke basketball 's Cameron Boozer finished his Champions Classic debut with a stat line he has put up a few times already early in the season: a double-double 18 points and 10 rebounds.
While Boozer's performance wasn't the 33 put up by RJ Barrett or the 28 by Zion Williamson in their Champions Classic debuts in 2018, it was enough to lead No. 4 Duke to a 78-66 win over No. 23 Kansas in Madison Square Garden.
Boozer struggled at times against the Jayhawks’ length, and Kansas kept him inefficient at times with their pressure and doubling teaming. Boozer countered this by finding open teammates, including a late first half outlet pass to an open Isaiah Evans resulting in a slam. Boozer finished the first half with a team-high four assists and ended the night with five.
