FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) - Allegiant Air pilots based in Flint joined colleagues on picket lines across the country, demanding what they call an overdue contract.
The airline offers 12 routes of non-stop flights from the Bishop International Airport. Teamsters Local 2118 said more than 1,400 Allegiant Air pilots at 22 bases nationwide are taking part in the Tuesday, Nov. 18 pickets. They are pushing for a deal that they say is overdue.
Similar pickets are also taking place at Grand Rapids’ Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, and Indianapolis International Airport.
“If we want to go anywhere else, we honestly can,” said Ethan Thuma, first officer at Allegiant Airlines. “But we love these little bases. I’d rather not go to Detroit Metro. I
