A Michigan man has awakened from a coma roughly two months after he was run over after telling officers he feared an attack on his life.

“Haidar waking up after more than two months in a medically induced coma is nothing short of a miracle,” Amir Makled, the attorney representing Haidar Alfadawi, tells PEOPLE in a statement on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
