HealthSource RI estimates that 13,100 Rhode Islanders will drop insurance coverage by 2027 after Obamacare subsidies expire this year

PROVIDENCE – Marlene Prichard does not like to call herself a survivor of breast cancer. She prefers the term “surviving,” because beating cancer is an ongoing process that requires vigilance and grit.

But she is not sure how she is going to continue surviving after 2025 without reliable access to health care .

“I could live out of a paper sack as long as I have good health care,” Prichard said.
