In a move aimed at raising public awareness on rising road accidents and promoting responsible behaviour among commuters, the Odisha government has decided to install an ‘Odisha Road Accidents Clock’ at the busy AG Square in Bhubaneswar.

The Commerce and Transport Department has issued a formal directive to the Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd. (BSCL) to take necessary steps for the installation.

The instructions were conveyed through a letter from Joint Director Tapan Kumar Mishra addressed to the BSCL General Manager.

Govt Pushes for Behavioural Change on Roads

According to the department, the digital accident clock will function as a real-time display board showing accident and fatality data from across the state. The objective is to alert commuters about the seriousness of road accidents
