NEW YORK (AP) — The U.S. stock market is swinging through another unsettled day of trading on Wednesday, ahead of a huge couple of tests for Wall Street.
The S&P 500 added 0.2% after veering between a small loss and a leap of 1.1% earlier in the day. The index is coming off a four-day losing streak, its longest in nearly three months, and has been shaky because of worries that stock prices have shot too high and that the Federal Reserve may not deliver as many energizing cuts to interest rates as earlier expected.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 57 points, or 0.1%, with an hour remaining in trading, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.4% higher.
