HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - In the 1800’s, iron furnaces dotted the landscape of our region.

Although places like Ironton and Franklin Furnace still bear names associated with the old industry, most of the old sites are long gone.

In this “We the People,” WSAZ’s Tim Irr found a local author who has spent years searching hills and hollers for the industrial relics.
