Bangkok, Nov 19: At least 125 Indian nationals were flown back to India from Thailand’s Mae Sot on Wednesday aboard a special Indian Air Force (IAF) flight. This brings the total number of Indians repatriated from scam centres in Myanmar’s Myawaddy via Thailand since March to 1,500.
The Indian Embassy in Bangkok and the Consulate in Chiang Mai coordinated with Thai authorities, including Tak Province officials, to facilitate the safe return of the nationals. These operations are part of the Government of India’s ongoing efforts to rescue citizens trapped in scam operations across South-East Asia.
