A number of recent polls have confirmed that Canada not only has young people that are more conservative than their elders, but the country is home to some of the most conservative young people in the West.
A poll aggregator maintained by the website Poliwave shows that, since the April 28 federal election, the Conservatives have repeatedly emerged as the favourite party of voters under 29.
A late October Abacus Data poll saw the Conservatives capture a plurality of the under-30 vote (40 per cent vs. 38 per cent for the Liberals), as has every Nanos Research poll of the last three months.
And even in polls that show the Liberals pulling ahead among younger voters, it’s notable that those cohorts will often continue to show rates of Tory support that are higher than among
