CHICAGO — A woman was left in critical condition after she was set on fire by a man while traveling aboard the “L” train system in Chicago, police said, adding the suspect remained at large as of Tuesday afternoon.
The incident unfolded on the CTA Blue Line train near Clark and Lake Streets on Monday, around 9:25 p.m., when a 26-year-old woman became involved in an argument with a man that quickly escalated into violence, NBC Chicago reported.

At one point, the suspect, identified only as a man in his 40s, poured a liquid onto the woman and ignited it, causing her to catch fire, police said.
It’s not clear exactly what the man poured onto the victim, whose name has not been released.
