While the Joro spider season, which spans from August to October, is over, these creepy crawlies can still pop up sporadically in the months before and after the season, according to Joro Watch , a monitoring program that collects data and reports on the invasive spider.
But those living in areas with populations can expect to see them again in 2026.
The spider is just one of many invasive species entering the U.S., according to Kathy Heinsohn, a staff entomologist with American Pest . And it looks like it is here to stay.
