Three Mount Clemens city commissioners switched their vote on Monday and threw their support behind Commissioner Laura Fournier to remain on as mayor pro tem.

Commissioners Spencer Calhoun, Theresa McGarity, and newly elected Roxanne Brown had backed Calhoun for the position, while commissioners Erik RIck and Jill Towner Yore had voted for Fournier at the Nov. 10 organizational meeting.

With Mayor Laura Kropp and Fournier not in attendance at the Nov. 10 session, and city protocol requiring four votes to secure the mayor pro tem position, the matter was tabled until the Nov. 17 meeting.
