AKRON, Ohio — One person has been displaced after escaping from a house fire in Akron early Wednesday morning.

The Akron Fire Department tells 3News that firefighters responded to the reports of a structure fire in the 300 block of Watson Street where they found "heavy fire conditions" upon their arrival.

Fire officials say nobody was hurt.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

A Facebook post from the Akron Fire Department shortly before 8 a.m. said it was expected that fire companies would remain on scene "for the next couple of hours" in the area of Watson and Newton streets.

But a follow-up from the Akron Fire Department shortly before 9 a.m. said "companies went back in service and the roads should all be open at this time."
