External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday inaugurated two new Indian consulates in Russia, saying their establishment will act as a ''catalyst'' in increasing bilateral trade to USD 100 billion by 2030.
Expanding its diplomatic footprint in Russia, India opened the new Consulates General in the major regional capitals of Yekaterinburg and Kazan. Till now, Indian consulates were in St. Petersburg and Vladivostok, according to the website of the Indian Embassy in Russia.
Out of more than 30,000 Indian students studying in Russia, 10,000 students will benefit from the consular services provided by the two new consulates.
