A pedestrian was killed while crossing a Bay Shore intersection late Tuesday night, Suffolk County Police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Felipe Corporan-Romero, 67, of Bay Shore, was crossing 5th Avenue from west to east at Dowsing Avenue when he was hit by a southbound 2002 GMC Sierra at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, according to the release.
Corporan-Romero was pronounced dead at the scene at the intersection in Bay Shore, police said. The driver of the GMC, identified as 20-year-old Dyllan McBroom of Bay Shore, was not hurt. Police said the vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
