Stray Dog Menace: Sola Civil Hospital records 17k bite cases so far this year November 19, 2025

Ahmedabad: Even after intervention from the apex court in the matter, the menace of stray dogs does not seem to have decreased in the country or in the city, with children in many areas reportedly afraid to leave their homes alone. This is evident from data at Sola Civil Hospital, where a total of 17,226 people were treated for dog bite cases from January 1 to November 19, 2025.

This includes 3,557 new patients and 13,669 follow-up cases. On average, the hospital treats 11 new cases and around 54 cases in total—both new and follow-up—every day. Asarwa Civil Hospital treats approximately 33 dog bite cases daily.
