The Edinburgh piper who played at Hampden ahead of Scotland's incredible World Cup qualifying win over Denmark last night has branded it "an incredible honour to do so".

Major Stevie Small MBE, performance director at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo , piped the national team onto the pitch before playing Flower of Scotland before kick-off on November 18.

Dressed in the Tattoo's signature tartan , he stopped playing after the first verse, allowing the sell-out crowd to sing the second by themselves, which they belted out with pride.

He said it was the loudest atmosphere he’s ever heard at Hampden, and shared what it meant to lead the anthem on such a historic night.
