Chris Pérez , the widower of the late Mexican American pop star Selena, shares rare comments about the couple's life together in the new Netflix docuseries “Selena y Los Dinos."
The Texas-born singer, whose full name was Selena Quintanilla Pérez, found fame singing in both Spanish and English and was known as the Queen of Tejano Music. In March 1995, Selena's life was cut tragically short at age 23 when Yolanda Saldívar, the former president of her fan club, shot and killed her.
The docuseries, which premiered Nov. 17, explores Selena’s love story with Pérez, who became a guitarist in her band. Though her father and manager, Abraham Quintanilla, initially objected to the young lovers’ romance, they secretly eloped in April 1992 and were together until Selena’s death.
