The hot stove surely was turned on around Major League Baseball on Tuesday.
The deadline came and went for teams to protect prospects from the Rule 5 Draft by being added to 40-man rosters. Naturally, that led to transactions all across the league. Most of the moves were teams adding their own prospects to 40-man rosters, but trades popped up as well and players were let go from rosters all around the league.
For Toronto, this was a big day because the club added No. 4 prospect left-handed pitcher Ricky Tiedemann to the 40-man roster, as shared by the team .
"Roster Update: LHP Ricky Tiedemann has been selected to the 40-man roster," the Blue Jays announced.
