SPENCER — A Canadian family grieving the loss of their husband and father is finding an unexpected measure of hope after their missing dog was discovered alive three weeks after a fatal crash in eastern Idaho.
On Oct. 23, around 5:10 p.m., Idaho State Police responded to a crash on southbound I-15 north of Spencer. A 1996 Dodge van driven by a 77-year-old woman from Lethbridge, Alberta, went off the left shoulder and came to rest in the northbound left lane. Her 76-year-old husband, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The driver was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with non–life-threatening injuries.
