NEW YORK -- A software error that can cause a loss of drive power led to 256,603 Honda Accords being recalled this week. The software issue can cause part of the impacted cars’ internal software to reset while driving, according to the Associated Press.
The recall applies to certain 2023-2025 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles in the U.S. Honda says affected vehicles may have incorrect software programming, which can cause the power loss issue.
If that happens, it increases the risk of a crash or injury. So far, Honda has received 832 warranty claims related to the issue, but is unaware of any crashes or injuries caused by the error between mid-December of 2022 and the end of October 2025.
Impacted owners will be contacted via letter starting Jan. 5, 2026, however the AP reports the improved
