Troll 2’s director has opened up on how a key Mega Troll scene was actually inspired by real-life.

Two years have passed since the Norwegian film Troll was released when Nora (played by Ine Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falk) and Kris (Mads Sjogard Pettersen) were tasked with stopping a newly awakened troll from the mountains from causing havoc.

Now director Roar Uthaug is back with Troll 2 on Netflix when another gigantic creature, referred to as the “Mega Troll” in the trailer, is ready to cause mayhem for the Norwegian town.

In a conversation with Frankenstein director Guillermo Del Toro for Netflix, the pair talk about the creatures in their films, including what inspired them and how they were created.
