EXCLUSIVE : Tim Davie has apologized to BBC staff after a chaotic period at the UK national broadcaster.
In an email to staff seen by Deadline, the director general said he recognized that it had been a time of upheaval following his resignation, which came after Panorama’s botched edit of Donald Trump ‘s January 6 speech. Deborah Turness, the BBC’s former news chief, also resigned.
“I am sorry that it has been such an unsettling time. There will be a lot of speculation about the future but, at its heart, the BBC is thousands of caring people who are utterly committed to serving the public,” Davie said.
