A volunteer neighborhood group focused on public safety just threw its support behind Monica Matteo-Salinas’ bid for the Miami Beach Commission.

SOBESafe is endorsing Matteo-Salinas, a City Commission legislative aide now competing in a runoff for the panel’s Group 1 seat.

“(She has) a combination of relevant, insider experience on how things get done with a resident’s desire to get them done better,” the SOBESafe Board wrote on its website .

“Solutions to our challenges are complex and finding them requires a combination of knowing how the system works and being open to finding new paths where you know the old ones don’t perform. Bottom line, we believe Ms. Matteo-Salinas gives us the best chances of success.”
