CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — #8 Illinois is heading up north to the United Center for a top-15 matchup against #11 Alabama Wednesday. Illinois is 4-0 coming off a win over Colgate, while Alabama sits at 2-1 after a loss to #1 Purdue.

The Illini last met with the Crimson Tide in 2024, taking a 100-87 loss in Birmingham. Both teams have only played each other five times, with Alabama leading the series 4-1.

Wednesday marks the 57th game the Illini will play at the United Center. Illinois played at least one regular season game at the venue from 1994 to 2018, but the team's last visit was for the 2023 B1G Tournament.
