The defeat has hurt India’s ego, tampering with their records in home Tests. Shubman Gill’s neck injury has further deepened their top-order problems, making it look fragile.

The injury sustained on the second day of the Eden Gardens Test ruled him out of the entire match. Most likely, he would sit out in Guwahati as well. Meanwhile, a video of Team India’s arrival in Assam has surfaced on social media. Gill appears without his neck brace but is still in discomfort, unable to move his neck.
