Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today urged the state police to boost conviction rates, identify culprits promptly, and maintain strict law and order across the state.

Speaking at the concluding session of a two-day state-level conference of District Collectors and Superintendents of Police at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Center here, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of coordination between police and district administration to ensure that development and security go hand in hand.

He directed the police officials to focus on eight key areas: increasing conviction rates and setting up Investigation and Prosecution wings where needed, registering all complaints and taking action against erring officers, regular police station visits by Superintendents,
