The stepbrother of a cheerleader found dead on a Carnival cruise ship earlier this month is being looked at by federal agents in connection to the teen’s death, according to a legal document in a separate case.
Anna Kepner, 18, died on the Carnival Horizon cruise ship on Nov. 7 while on vacation with her family.
The Miami Dade Medical Examiner’s Office determined Kepner’s time of death was 11:17 a.m., but declined to provide a cause and manner of death. The office said Wednesday morning that those details were still pending.
The cruise ship returned to the Port of Miami the next day, as was planned, Carnival said in a statement at the time, which added that the cruise line was assisting the FBI Miami with the investigation.
