In Knox's 28-21 win over Angola for a Class 3A regional championship on November 14, Myles McLaughlin scored four touchdowns to become the national leader for touchdowns in a season. He now has 71 scores for the season, breaking the previous mark of 68 touchdowns, previous held by Charlie Spegal of New Palestine (Indiana) in 2017 and T.A. McLendon of Albemarle (North Carolina) in 2001. McLaughlin also ran 53 times for 372 yards and currently has 4,768 yards, which breaks the national mark for yards in a season previously held by Dominick Bragalone of South Williamsport (Pennsylvania) with 4,704 yards. He now has 11,761 career yards, which is 363 yards short of the national record held by Derek Henry of the Baltimore Ravens, who had 12,124 career yards.
