The cities of Fountain Inn and Simpsonville had runoff elections on Nov. 18 after no candidate in municipal races on Nov. 4 received at least 50% of the vote.
Jerry Tuso won in the runoff against incumbent candidate Lou Hutchings for Simpsonville's Ward 6 city council seat. Tuso received 54.8% of the vote at 100% of precincts reporting, while Hutchings received 45.2%. A little over 700 people came out to vote in the Simpsonville runoff race.
Fountain Inn's Ward 3 city council seat also came to a runoff with two names appearing on the ballot: incumbent council lmember Joey Garrett and challenger A. J. Dearybury.
Dearybury was the winner in that race with 57.7% of the votes once precincts reported at 100%. Garrett received 42.3% of the vote. A total of 279 people voted in the Fountain Inn
