HUNTSVILLE -- A student at Huntsville Public Schools was found with a gun Wednesday morning before reaching the school.
According to a post on the the Huntsville School District website, the district received a serious alert about a student Wednesday and immediately began coordinating with law enforcement.
"The student was intercepted before they arrived at their school, a weapon was found and law enforcement apprehended the student," according to the post.
The post said students' safety and security are the district's top priorities and that the district is confident the schools are now secure and safe.
No other information was immediately available.
