Town hall bosses are to submit plans to the government on how they will spend £20m to regenerate Leigh over the next 10 years. Cash is flowing in thanks to the Pride in Place programme (PIPP) recently announced by Sir Keir Starmer.

It will add to the £11.4m investment already underway in the town via the Local Regeneration Fund – formerly known as the Levelling Up Fund.

This has resulted in the setting up of a Neighbourhood Board for Leigh, responsible for drawing up the town’s regeneration plans over the next decade.
