The Houston Astros seem bound to lose Framber Valdez in free agency this winter, which is going to crush the team's pitching staff. Valdez is headed for a massive contract, and Houston likely isn't going to be able to pay him.

But there are multiple top contenders in the league that will be able to make a run for him this winter. Almost every top contender could make an offer for Valdez, but there are very few with the money to make a real offer.
