St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is awarding more than $4.8 million in grants to help young people with job opportunities.

The grants will be used by 39 organizations and provide more than 4,000 young people with workforce development and training opportunities. While most of the organizations receiving the grant are from the Twin Cities Metro, Rural Minnesota CEP in Detroit Lakes has received a $200,000 grant.

DEED’s Youth at Work Opportunity Grants Program serves youth of color and those with disabilities who are economically disadvantaged or considered to be at-risk. The program is for young people between the ages of 14 to 24 to help them find good-paying jobs in high-growth industries.
