Clarkston Community Schools students sheltered in place for a little more than an hour across district buildings due to federal immigration enforcement activity on Wednesday, Nov. 19, a district spokesperson confirmed.
Families in the Oakland County district received a text message around 10 a.m. that all buildings were under a shelter-in-place order. More than an hour later, families were notified that "schools have resumed classes" via text message. An email to families from Superintendent Shawn Ryan stated that the Oakland County Sheriff's Office had given the district the all-clear to resume normal operations.
