It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but James Franklin — who started his new job at Virginia Tech on Monday — is already impacting Penn State’s recruiting efforts.
Franklin is poaching Penn State’s general manager and head of recruiting, Andy Frank, as of Wednesday morning . Frank has been with Franklin since their days at Vanderbilt.
The Hokies and Franklin’s new staff have also already sent out a ton of new scholarship offers to high school prospects, many of whom are or previously were committed to Penn State.
“We’ve already started recruiting. Two nights ago, I had 40 players on the phone, young men that are committed to Virginia Tech,” Franklin said at his introductory press conference Wednesday . “I called all the top players in the state of Virginia as well.”
