Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are patrolling the Eugene-Springfield area today, Nov. 19.

Register-Guard reporter Haleigh Kochanski and multimedia director Chris Pietsch are in Springfield at Marcola Apartments observing, along with around a dozen community members.

Kochanski identified some ICE agents in white, silver, black and dark grey Dodge Chargers and Ford sedans, a white van and other vehicles driving around a construction site.

Rep. Val Hoyle posted to social media site BlueSky that her office "is aware of an ongoing ICE operation in the Eugene and Springfield area."
