An unusual story from Germany is making U.S. headlines - and sparking controversy.

On Nov. 18, USA TODAY reported that Alice and Ellen Kessler, German twin entertainers who gained international fame in the 1960s, died at 89 on the same day in a medically assisted death. The twins died on Monday, Nov. 17, according to the German Society for Humane Dying.
