CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Two birds are dead and two people are without a home after a house went up in flames Wednesday morning in Clarksville.
Firefighters saw heavy flames coming through the roof of a home along Copeland Road when they arrived Wednesday at about 3 a.m.
“Crews began an aggressive attack, and heavy fire remained in the attic around 3:33,” a message from Clarksville Fire Rescue said.
Firefighters focused on the outside of the home before starting the “interior attack” about 15 minutes later. The fire was under control within the hour, per CFR.
“The homeowners were not home at the time, but unfortunately two birds were found inside and did not survive,” the fire department said.
