In Edina, the question is how the chicken crossed the road, not why, especially across a six-lane thoroughfare that sees more than 27,000 vehicles a day.
France Avenue, one of the city’s busiest roads, doesn’t currently have a system in place for pedestrians and bikers to get to and from apartments and local businesses, apart from using sidewalks and stoplights.
But that could change in the future.
In recent years, the city has been looking at building a new pedestrian and bicycle route that would connect neighborhoods west of France Avenue to Centennial Lakes Park, the Edina Promenade and other businesses on the east side of France Avenue, per Better Together Edina.
