JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — A James City County resident has passed away after being struck by a cement truck Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at 1:38 p.m. in the 4600 block of Monticello Avenue in front of Monticello Marketplace, according to a James City County Police Department spokesperson.
The man had been crossing the street using a walker when the truck hit him. He was found unresponsive and taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the pedestrian was unlawfully crossing the roadway when the collision occurred,” police added.
