RAWLINS -- The Rawlins City Council said it won't change council members use of cell phones during regular meetings following a discussion on the topic during their meeting Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Councilman Bruce Seilaff brought the issue to council, saying he heard from some constituents who complained about council using cell phones during meetings. Many thought it an unnecessary distraction from what is going on during a meeting, he said.
Councilman Derek Elliott said he has heard the same thing from some people but added he will continue using his cell phone during meetings as it is needed. Vice Mayor Darril Garner said he uses his cell phone during meetings for the work of the council, if his computer is not working properly and to keep in communication with his family, in case of emerge
