The Atlanta Braves made a minor roster move today. They’re getting a early start on acquiring lots of relievers. In an alliterative move today, Ryan Rolison of the Rockies was acquired from the Braves for cash considerations today from Colorado. The 28-year-old Rolison appeared in 31 games for the Rockies last season.
His line of 7.02 ERA/ 6.75 FIP/ 5.12 xFIP, translates into a 147 ERA- and a 154 FIP-. Is he just organizational depth? Likely. But he also had 32 strikeouts in 29.2 MiLB innings, which is not terrible.
To be fair, he pitched in Denver’s hitter friendly ballpark. So let’s make sure to mention that. But Rolison’s run values on each pitch are in the negative with the exception of the changeup. That’s only offered three percent of the time, however. His arsenal, along with the
