A big question going into the 2026 season is whether Triston Casas will be the Red Sox first baseman.
While injuries and offensive struggles have plagued Casas, Alex Cora isn’t ready to give up on him.
“We gotta get him healthy,” the manager said on “Foul Territory.” ”I think Triston is a big part of what we’re trying to accomplish, but we gotta get him healthy.
“We’re not giving up on hm, but we know he hasn’t been healthy throughout his career,” Cora added . “So, that’s very important.”
Casas suffered a season-ending knee injury in May that required surgery. The 25-year-old struggled in 29 games, going 18-for-99 (.182) before he got hurt.
In 2024, Casas dealt with fractured cartilage in his rib that limited him to just 63 games.
