SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A man is in custody after authorities in Sumter County said an argument led to a shooting on Wednesday.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said 33-year-old Thomas Mason Donion was arrested and charged with attempted murder as well as possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to Laverne Avenue at around 2:40 p.m. after reports of a shooting. A gunshot victim was found at the scene and was later taken to a hospital. No further details were provided on their condition.
Donlon was later identified as a suspect and was located at a motel in the area of Broad Street and Tyron Street. The sheriff’s office also said the shooting was sparked by what it called “a dispute between acquaintances.”
